Village Halls Working Group (VHWG)
The VHWG was established in 1974. The purpose of the VHWG is to reflect the views and interests of village halls and other community buildings operating with charitable goals in Shropshire. The group also acts as a communications link between CCS and the Village Halls Advisory Service.
One of the main functions of the VHWG is to evaluate proposals for Village Hall projects, to seek grant-aid from Shropshire County Council and other funders and to make recommendations for CCS to pass on to funders.
The VHWG helps organise at least one event each year which is designed to promote good practice in the management and promotion of village halls. The VHWG also provides advice and support to village hall management committees and users in partnership with the CCS Community Buildings Development Officer.
