Title: Quality - PQASSO

The Practical Quality Assurance System for Small Organisations (PQASSO) is produced by the Charities Evaluation Service. It is a straightforward quality assurance system, specifically designed for the voluntary sector, and helps organisations undertake a systematic review of what they do and where improvements could be made.

The self-evaluation system uses a comprehensive, user-friendly guidebook and CD ROM to cover 12 quality areas at three different levels. Quality standards and their indicators are defined for each area to determine whether the standard has been met.

Level 1 sets out the basic requirements that any organisation should achieve in order to meet all its legal obligations as a service provider and employer. Levels 2 and 3 build upon this foundation.

The system is very flexible and is designed to be used over a period of time, anything from 12 months to several years.

The Community Council of Shropshire has a PQASSO support network and may be able to provide support to groups using the system.
