
The Rural Regeneration Zone (RRZ) is a strategy for regeneration of rural areas in Shropshire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire.
The RRZ identifies priorities for development and funding in Shropshire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire over the next 15 years. It is funded by Advantage West Midlands (AWM) as part of the West Midlands Economic Strategy with strong links to other funding programmes.
The RRZ will focus on key objectives:
- Economic Regeneration
- Community Regeneration
- Learning and Skills
- Environment
Key themes will run through all these objectives:
- Sustainable Development
- Accessibility
- Equality of Opportunity
- Innovation
- Urban/Rural interdependency
The programme is managed by the RRZ Management Group comprising a representative from AWM and four representatives from each county. The organisations representing Shropshire are:
- Community Council of Shropshire
- Shropshire Wildlife Trust
- Shropshire Partnership
- Shropshire Business Link
