Course Title
Understanding Information Advice and Guidance (IAG)

Aims and Objectives
At the end of the course, participants will:
- Understand the IAG process
- Have an increased ability to identify and meet the needs of clients effectively
- Understand their role and responsibilities in relation to guidance process
Level
The course is suitable for all ability levels either as an introduction or as a refresher.
Intended Participants
The course is for both volunteers and paid staff who have a frontline responsibility for providing information and advice to clients in the voluntary sector.

Trainer's background
Carole is an experienced Guidance Consultant, Trainer and Writer who has been working in the Careers and Educational Guidance field for 30 years. She has focused primarily on Adult Education and Guidance for the past 20 years. She has worked with a range of clients from the voluntary sector and has providedconsultancy support to the Workers Educational Association.

Basics for Treasurers

Aims and Objectives
The Session will include:
- Different accounts
- Charity Commission requirements
- Do's and Don'ts in Book-keeping
- Year end procedures
The session will be friendly and supportive with lots of opportunities to ask questions.
Level
This course would suit new treasurers or existing treasurers who wish to brush up on their knowledge.
Intended Participants
This course is ideal for those new to, or considering becoming, a treasurer for a community group, small charity, sports or social club. The course could also act as a useful reminder for those who have been Treasurers for a while.

Trainer's background
Marion is an Independent Examiner of Charity Accounts and is herself the Treasurer of a church and a charity. She is experienced in lecturing on all aspects of book-keeping.

Foundation Certificate in Health and Safety (RIPH accredited)

Aims and Objectives
This course will provide participants with an overview of the main Health and Safety legislation and obligations required under the Health and Safetyat Work Act and to enable participants to pass the RIPH foundation examination.

Staff, volunteers, management committee members from not for profit organisations.

Trainer's background
Caroline is a registered trainer with 'The Royal Institute of Public Health' since 1991 with experience in Health and Safety and Food Hygiene in bothretail and the Voluntary sector.
